Meet Tiara Kinnebrew

I thought of this piece on the way home from work one day, listening to Louis Armstrong’s “La Vie en Rose,” the chorus of which is illustrated in the sheet music coming from the horn. I love expressing the reality that art and tranquility exists in busy scenes and urban areas. I used the streetlight to kind of place a spotlight on the barefoot man — dressed in Nike shorts and an oversized tank — as if he were on a stage, with life and action taking a backseat in the current moment, the solitary sound of “La Vie en Rose” filling the still night air.
