ARTIST FAQ

what is an artist interview ?

The goal of the artist interview is to provide readers with meaningful insights on your journey as an artist, how you engage in art communities, and how to thrive in today's art market.

Full feature artists will be given interview questions relating to their artistry. Answers will be published alongside your artwork to fully immerse readers in your creative story. Example questions may include:

What is integral to the work of an artist?

How have you developed your career?

How do you seek out professional opportunities?

artist bio vs. artist statement?

An artist bio is used to talk about yourself, like a resume or cover letter. An artist statement is used to talk the meaning and processes behind your art.

An artist’s bio is a short paragraph, written in prose, and in the third person. It tells more about the way your life has influenced your work. A bio is about you, the artist, as opposed to an “artist’s statement” which is more about the work and the themes behind it, and is written in first person.

Full feature artists are encouraged to submit their artist bio, artist statement, or both to be included alongside their artist interview. This will provide background for our readers to understand your experiences and what inspires you to create.
