Elevation depicts a dream-like vision exploring surrealism, realism, and organic abstraction. This piece creates a dimensional feel and is the progression of patterns, shapes, contrast, and color.
I wanted something unique and I wanted to push the boundaries of my creative process. Using canvas paper, I drew a rough sketch of where I wanted the white lines to go. Then, I went in and filled in the gaps with black acrylic paint. I painted the lines and freehanded everything else—the grass, flowers, skies, checkered pattern, bubble lettering, and marbles. Though there are many colors and elements, the thickness of the white, ribbon-like lines in the painting unifies the composition.
