What role do Black artists play in society?

There are multiple roles Black artists have in society. For example, we have the ability to illustrate and develop local communities using our talents.

How can we grow and empower the Black art community?

We can grow by supporting each other and encouraging others to do what they love.

Do you feel that your art community challenges existing barriers and assumptions?

Yes, I’m a part of an art community in Wynwood. This community challenges me to create existing barriers and assumptions. For instance, they have challenged me to create a distinctive style using different mediums like printmaking and colored pencils.

I define success as an artist as when the individual is able to become financially free. I hope to continue inspiring the next generation of artists.
